该芯片还可以增强其它几项技术的效率，如在现在的无线网络上性能很差的视频播放服务。

该公司在领先的网络模拟器Opnet的环境下开发的该产品，它正在寻求与公共无线网络运营商的合作。

Chip Boosts Wireless Performance

Haifa-based E.N.Y. Optimus has developed a performance-boosting chip for wireless access points that it claims will improve network efficiency and sharply lowers its price.

The chip will be integrated into wireless hosting devices, wireless access points or computer motherboards. Using the company's optimization technology, the chip performs an online recalibration of several communication parameters within the hosting devices, thus adapting them to the changing topology and traffic features of the network. The result is better efficiency, enabling the network's owner to save 30 to 50 percent of the network's total costs.

The efficiency boost also enables several other technologies, such as video streaming, that currently achieve poor performance on current wireless networks.

The company is implementing the product using Opnet—the leading simulation environment for networks. E.N.Y. seeks an alliance with an operator of public wireless networks for beta-site deployments.
