Google的开发人员在其自选工作时间里为Apple OS X系统开发了三个小应用工具，而Google公司的开发人员有20％的时间可以自主选择开发项目。

应用工具包括一个Google博客服务的快速粘贴工具、用于检查Google公司Webmail收件箱的工具以及第三方在搜索Google持股的网站服务。

该公司在其官方博客里表示这些小工具是为公司软件的多平台特性迈出的一小步。 该公司同时为Mac系统提供了由第三方开发的应用工具。

Google Builds Widgets For Apple OS X

Google Inc. has built three widgets for Apple Computer Inc.'s OS X.

Google developers created the small applications that run on the Mac operating system during the time they are given to work on any project of their choice. That time amounts to about 20 percent of their workweek.

The applications include one for quick and easy posting to Google's blogging service, another for checking the inbox in the search engine's Webmail and a third for finding Websites a Google accountholder had searched for in the past.

The company said in its official blog that the widgets are a "small step towards bringing our software to a variety of platforms." The company also offers Mac widgets built by third-party developers.
