 In this session, Caterpillar will be discussing their Lean implementation at their Nuevo Laredo facility in Mexico, which produces remanufactured fuel injectors. Caterpillar's implementation resulted in benefits such as a 50 percent reduction in order lead time and a 40 percent reduction in manufacturing space. During this presentation Caterpillar will discuss their transition from a traditional scheduling approach to an electronic Kanban system. In addition, Caterpillar will discuss key project management issues such as executive sponsorship, establishing a lean culture and lean metrics, benefits, lessons learned and next steps.
