Traditionally, MFG/PRO's functionality has supported production using work orders and repetitive schedules, either separately or together, in a mixed-mode manufacturing environment. Today, many of our customers are re-examining their manufacturing philosophies in response to such factors as increasingly uncertain demand, more complex variations in product mix and growing variability in customer ordering patterns. In many cases, they are moving toward streamlined approaches to manufacturing to take advantage of more efficient techniques, implementing continuous flow and pull techniques to make their plants-as well as the entire value stream-more effective.

QAD's Lean Manufacturing module has been licensed to over 100 customer entities representing well over 250 physical sites. The demand for this module over the past two years has been incredible. The product provides a competitive advantage to manufacturers in many different industries. The Lean module is an effective tool for supporting our customers as they move toward advanced, lean value stream processes. Our current development activities include Advanced Flow Manufacturing, which greatly enhances kanban card management/control features and provides Heijunka box capabilities, inbound/outbound EDI and much more.
