Benefits of membershipASUG aims to be the definitive communication link for SAP customers - it provides access to peer resources to allow members to benefit from the experiences of other users and to develop solutions to common user challenges. Groups and chaptersA major part of ASUG activities takes place through ASUG group and chapter meetings. GroupsGroups are organized on the basis of process, interest, or industry. Each major business process, such as Financial Accounting and Sales and Distribution, has their own process group. Interest groups work in conjunction with process group leaders and participate in educational activities at the ASUG annual conference. Industry groups communicate directly with the corresponding SAP Strategic Business Unit. SAP provides support at the process and industry group level and development support at the interest group level is at the discretion of SAP. ASUG group meetings provide a forum for users to network and share ideas, as well as have direct contact with SAP. Customers give presentations and share ideas, suggestions for best practices, and work-arounds. Specific enhancement requests can be submitted to SAP - requests from ASUG groups are typically given high priority by SAP. When you attend a group meeting, you can be placed on that group's mailing list. ChaptersChapters are geographic user groups that focus on specific areas or topics of general interest. Chapters are organized by geographic location (South, West, Midwest, Northeast, and Canada). Chapters are run on an informal basis and generally meet every two to three months at the nearest SAP regional office or at a hosting member company facility.
